AMPANG: PKR president Anwar Ibrahim and his wife Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail will declare their assets today, said the party’s elections director Rodziah Ismail.
Rodziah said she had contacted Anwar on the matter and the delay in doing so was due to time constraints as he was busy campaigning.
Most of PKR’s 72 candidates for the general election (GE15) have declared their assets, with Anwar and Wan Azizah being the notable exceptions.
Anwar is contesting the Tambun seat while Wan Azizah will stand in Bandar Tun Razak.
“I am among those responsible for ensuring candidates declare their assets,” Rodziah told reporters after a walkabout in Ampang.
“The declaration of assets is important because we have promised voters (transparency),” she said.
Rodziah said aside from Anwar and Wan Azizah, another 12 candidates would also declare their assets on the party’s website.
