PETALING JAYA:
Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman says there’s a blessing in disguise for being excluded from the Cabinet as he now has more time to focus on clearing his name in court.

Syed Saddiq, a former youth and sports minister, said he had met Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and told him that he did not want his case to be dropped as he would like to see justice prevail in court.

He has been ordered to make his defence on criminal charges related to RM1.12 million in funds linked to Bersatu Youth.

In a short video clip posted on his social media account today, Syed Saddiq said: “I will focus on clearing my name in court. In a meeting with the prime minister, I stressed that I don’t want my (court) case to be dropped because I want to see justice prevail in court.”

He said that it is the prerogative of the prime minister to appoint Cabinet members and he respected the mandate.

Syed Saddiq said he now has more time to focus on giving his best service to his constituency.
