SHAH ALAM: The shariah high court has fixed May 30 for the hearing of celebrity couple Diana Danielle and Farid Kamil Zahari’s divorce case concerning the temporary custody of their children.
Sharie lawyer Akberdin Abdul Kader, representing Diana, 32, said the court also extended the interim order to the actress until May 30.
Both parties informed the judge that they were willing to consider mediation to resolve all issues in the dispute.
“It looks like there is hope as the other side has also indicated their willingness to discuss with us on the sulh (conciliation) process set for April 11,” Akberdin told reporters after the proceedings before sharie judge Zulfikri Yasoa.
On March 24, the Shah Alam High Court issued temporary custody of the couple’s two children, aged 10 and eight, to Diana, with Farid given access to see his children.
Meanwhile, sharie lawyer Fakhrul Azman Abu Hassan, representing Farid, 42, said his client wanted to ensure that his children would not be separated from either parent.
On March 20, Diana filed for divorce under Section 47 of the Islamic Family Law (State of Selangor) Enactment 2003 on the grounds of irreconcilable differences and there was a shiqaq (prolonged dispute) and they could no longer live together as husband and wife.
