
PETALING JAYA: Three boys were reported to have drowned in two separate incidents in Johor yesterday.
A 14-year-old boy drowned while fishing with his friends in a river in Bandar Putra, Kulai, Bernama reported.
Bandar Baru Kulai fire station operations commander Baharuddin Mohd Omar identified the victim as Amirul Ikhwan Muhammad Khairul Amin.
“The victim’s body was found by firefighters at the spot where he was reported to have drowned at around 6pm,” he was quoted as saying.
The other incident was reported at Sungai Masai near Pangsapuri Sri Intan, Bandar Seri Alam, Pasir Gudang.
Pasir Gudang fire station operations commander Sarhan Akmal Mohamad identified the victims as Danish Ahmad, 11, and Zahir Ajmal Mohd Idris, 13.
“Danish’s body was recovered at 5am today while Zahir was found at 7.30am, about 50m from where they drowned. The water was about 3m deep at that spot.”
Firemen started their search just before midnight after they were informed that the two boys had fallen into the river.
