PETALING JAYA: Actor and PKR member Hans Isaac has been appointed as chairman of the Malaysia Stadiums Board for the 2023/2025 session.
He is among the 16 appointments made to the board, which also includes individuals from the corporate, sports and government sectors.
In a statement, youth and sports minister Hannah Yeoh said the new members will facilitate the board’s “self-sustainable” direction while practising good corporate governance and providing efficient and professional services.
Isaac was previously chairman of the National Film Development Corporation (Finas) from 2019 to 2020.
He narrowly lost the contest for the Ampang PKR chief post last year to Syed Ahmad Syed Abdul Rahman Alhadad, better known as rapper Altimet.
The 51-year-old began acting in 1995 and was featured in numerous local movies and TV series until he announced his retirement from show business in 2021.
Isaac joined PKR in 2020.
