PETALING JAYA: A Malaysian was arrested at Singapore’s Woodlands checkpoint on Tuesday after authorities allegedly found more than 4.7kg of heroin in his car.
In a joint statement, Singapore’s immigration and checkpoints authority and central narcotics bureau (CNB) said they detected a bundle in a haversack in the boot of his Malaysia-registered car.
CNB officers then searched and found 10 individual bundles of heroin weighing a total of 4,723g in it.
“A 22-year-old male Malaysian in the car was subsequently arrested for suspected drug offences,” said the statement.
The agencies said that the heroin had an estimated value of more than S$331,400 (RM1.13 million).
