KUALA LUMPUR: The education ministry is investigating the case of a 14-year-old schoolboy who allegedly ran away from his boarding school after being bullied.
The ministry said in a statement tonight that it was taking note of the alleged bullying case as reported in the media.
Earlier today, Bernama reported that a 14-year-old student who went missing from SM Sains Alam Shah in Cheras here last Thursday, was found in a weak state at the Saidina Othman Mosque in Bandar Tun Razak, last night.
It is understood that the teenager ran away from school after being bullied by other students, the report said.
The education ministry said it provided four main channels for schoolchildren, parents and the community to make complaints about cases of bullying and sexual harassment.
Complaints could be made through the bullying hotline, via WhatsApp or email, or through the public complaint management system.
