KUALA LUMPUR: The youth and sports ministry, via its Esports Integrated initiative, will organise its inaugural esports convention in Puchong on Jan 6.
EsportsCon Malaysia 2024 will be held in celebration of the Malaysian esports industry, the agency said in a statement.
It said the convention will provide a platform for esports fans in the country to connect, interact, network and understand more about the sports ecosystem.
The convention, to be held at Spacerubix, an esports hub in Puchong, will feature a gaming and technology expo, discussion sessions with industry experts, a showmatch, and meet-and-greet with key opinion leaders.
Other events include academic exhibitions by universities, cosplay shows, career counselling services, indie game demos, mini contests and lucky draws.
Visitors to the gaming, esports and animation exhibitions will be able to explore a collection of sophisticated and up-to-date gaming technology such as console systems and smartphones.
