Crash-prone-Christie-returns-to-Olympic-trainingPYEONGCHANG: British short track speed skater Elise Christie has made a remarkable return from injury in a bid to compete in Tuesday’s 1,000 metres at the Pyeongchang Olympics.

The 27-year-old, dubbed Britain’s unluckiest Olympian in her native Scotland, smashed into the barriers at full pelt during the 1,500m semi-final at the weekend before being carried off the ice on a stretcher.

But tests revealed Christie had suffered no broken bones and after returning to training, she could be set to make a speedy recovery.

“Elise has made good progress and was on the ice today,” a British team spokesman said Monday.
