KUALA LUMPUR: National women’s squash player Low Wee Wern continued her winning streaks by emerging as champion at the Australian Open Squash Championships in Melbourne, today.

The former world number five was forced to take a long lay-off due to a serious knee injury, but proved that she was still a serious contender by defeating Hana Ramadan of Egypt 11-6, 11-9, 10-12 and 11-6 in the final at Melbourne’s Mulgrave Country Club.

This is her third international Professional Squash Association (PSA) Tour title, having won back-to-back the Malaysian Open and Tasmanian Open in Australia earlier.

“Three out of three PSA titles since my comeback and I can’t be more pleased. Makes all the hard work over the past 20 months worth it. Time to head home! Thanks for the support everyone!” Wee Wern said on her Instagram.

Following her performances, Wee Wern received the PSA’s Woman of the Month award for July.
