SANTOS: São Paulo returned to the top of Brazil’s Série A on Sunday after a hard fought 0-0 draw at Santos.

Neither side created many chances in a spirited match but the draw was enough for São Paulo to move a point ahead of Internacional, who play Chapecoense on Monday.

“It’s not easy to come to the Vila Belmiro so we have to value the point we got,” São Paulo midfielder Reinaldo told TV Globo. “This is important for us.”

Santos, who have now gone five league matches without conceding a goal, are back in eighth place, 18 points off the lead.
