IPOH: Newly-minted president of the Perak Football Association (Pafa) Ahmad Faizal Azumu has denied rumours that three import players from “The Bos Gaurus” team will not have their contracts renewed for next season.

Faizal, who is also menteri besar, said the three imports, namely Wander Luiz, Gilmar Da Silva Filho and Leandro Dos Santos Oliviera, would be retained for the 2019 season.

“The rumours on social media are untrue,’’ he told reporters after launching a mass circumcision organised by the Tambun people’s service centre here today.

He was asked to comment on the claim, which has since gone viral on Facebook, that the contracts of the three Brazilian players were not being extended and that Perak was looking for new imports.

Meanwhile, Faizal said he had no issue of being Pafa’s president and MB at the same time.

“I am confident, despite the huge responsibility of being Pafa president, I will have no problems administering the state.

“This is because everyone in Pafa has their respective role to play in guiding Pafa next season,’’ he said.

“The president’s role is mainly deciding on policies and boosting sponsorships so we can take good care of the team and ensure Perak’s momentum is retained next season,’’ he said.

Pafa’s extraordinary congress last night unanimously appointed Faizal as president and state secretary Zainal Azman Abu Seman as deputy president of the association to replace Adly Shah Ahmad Tah, who was appointed the manager of The Bos Gaurus squad.
