KUALA LUMPUR: National mixed doubles pair Tan Kian Meng-Lai Pei Jing continue their excellent run at the Indonesian Open after defeating English pair Chris and Gabrielle Adcock on Friday to progress into the semi-finals.

The Malaysians needed three games to dispose of the husband and wife pairing 21-15, 14-21, 21-15 at Istora Senayan Stadium.

Tan-Lai will face Chinese pair Zheng Siwei-Huang Yaqiong in the semi-finals today.

Unfortunately, another Malaysian pairing Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Jemie Lai were dumped out by Chinese pair Wang Yilyu-Huang Dongping 4-21, 15-21.

Wang-Huang will face national professional pair Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying in the semi-finals.

National men’s singles player Lee Zii Jia could not continue his giant killing run after losing to Anders Antonsen of Denmark 16-21, 11-21.

Lee’s marathon 21-16, 19-21, 22-20 defeat of Olympic champion Chen Long on Thursday seems to have taken a lot out of him as he struggled to match his Danish opponent yesterday.

Antonsen will face Vincent Wong Wing Ki of Hong Kong in the semi-finals.
