Quake rocks southwest of Sumatra

KUALA LUMPUR: A magnitude 5.5 earthquake rocked southwest of Sumatra, Indonesia early today.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department in a statement said the quake occurred at 2.46am and 327km off Bengkulu, Indonesia.

However, it posed no tsunami threat to Malaysia.
