KUANTAN: The Tengku Puan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Maimunah Iskandariah expressed her sadness and disappointment yesterday about the pollution caused by bauxite mining activities in the district.
She urged the people to continue their fight against the activities that has become increasingly serious of late.
Through her Instagram account @tengku_puan_pahang, Tunku Azizah uploaded several status relating to the matter and attached several newspaper articles on the pollution caused by bauxite activities.
“So sad…” and “fight people fight”. The pollution issue once again made the headlines of most newspapers recently after the water at Sungai Balok and Batu Hitam beach, a tourist attraction, turned red, she said.
Tunku Azizah added that the beach in front of her house at Balok had turned red and urged the relevant parties to put a stop to bauxite activities.
