PETALING JAYA:
Patrons of a simple “mamak” restaurant in Muar had a Monday morning surprise when their much beloved Sultan joined them for a hearty breakfast of roti canai and his favourite curries.

In a report on The Star Online, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar was spotted tucking into his meal at the Al Ziya Fathima Restaurant in Taman Mas Jaya at about 6.45am, accompanied by Muar district officer Ramlee Rahman and Muar police chief ACP Azman Ayob.

To complement his roti canai, the ruler ordered mutton and chicken curry, together with a drink of “halia o ais”. He spent about 40 minutes there.

On December 18 last year, the Sultan once again ventured out for a meal, this time to Restoran Ansari in Muar as well, and ordered an assortment of his favourite dishes.

Not only did he eat there, he also paid the restaurant owner for the meals of all patrons who were eating there at the time as well as those who would drop by at the restaurant throughout the day.

Four pictures of the Sultan enjoying his meal at the restaurant were posted on his official Facebook page much to the delight of this followers, many of whom left complimentary comments about the post, citing the ruler’s humility.
