Speaking to reporters at the Perdana Leadership Foundation office in Putrajaya today, Mahathir, who was the country’s longest serving prime minister, said he had not lost steam in trying to remove Najib from his seat of power.
“Najib’s administration has caused the country to decline in various fields – economy, politics, science, technology and knowledge. All areas are declining,” he said, adding this was due to Najib’s determination to stay in power at all costs.
“For popularity’s sake, money was used. In fact, he himself (Najib) had admitted that the RM2.6 billion was used for (BN) victory,” he said.
Mahathir also reiterated his admiration for the nation’s second Prime Minister Abdul Razak Hussein, who is Najib’s father, calling the latter his mentor.
He also clarified that his recent blog post on Abdul Razak, in commemoration with the latter’s 40th year of passing, was purely dedicated to him and him alone and therefore had “nothing to do with Najib.”
