KUALA LUMPUR:
A lawyer acting for Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak has denied that his client admitted taking RM42 million from SRC International.

“I have checked the reply (to Ling Liong Sik’s counterclaim and defence), and I can safely say he did not admit to taking the RM42 million from SRC International,” he said. “But I need to double check on the documents (reply) in my office.”

Hafarizam Harun said he has yet to receive the notice from the Court Mediation Centre on Najib’s lawsuit against Ling.” “No dates yet for us to appear,” he said.

Elsewhere, the lawyer said he had yet to meet Najib to “discuss thoroughly” his intention to sue the Wall Street Journal (WSJ). “I have six pending lawsuits with me.”

“I have not met the Prime Minister on WSJ yet,” he reiterated.

The WSJ reported on Friday 3 July last year that USD681 million entered Najib’s personal banking accounts with AmBank Islamic private banking services before the General Election in 2013.
