KUALA LUMPUR:
Organisers of tomorrow’s anti-Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA) rally have announced five gathering points for protestors: Maju Junction, Masjid Negara, Masjid Jamek, Masjid India and Sogo.

Malaysiakini reports that organisers estimate “thousands” will attend the rally. The march will commence at 2pm from the respective points and converge at Dataran Merdeka.

Meanwhile, police have confirmed receipt of notice from rally organisers.

Dang Wangi District Police Chief, Zainol Samah said that the organisers have agreed to converge at Padang Merbok if Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) rejects their application to meet at their original venue, Dataran Merdeka.

He cautioned rally-goers: “Police urge rally participants not to gather at Dataran Merdeka and proceed to Padang Merbok. The police will not hesitate in taking stern action if there is any breach of law, and participants are required to abide by the police’s advice.”

Police are on standby as the anti-TPPA rally will bring together parties from across the political divide, from Parti Sosialis Malaysia and newly-formed Parti Amanah Negara to right-wing Malay-rights group Perkasa.
