PETALING JAYA:
Umno rebel Khairuddin Abu Hassan has lodged a police report against Attorney-General (AG) Apandi Ali, urging the police to probe the latter for abuse of power and negligence.

“I urge the police to investigate the AG for abuse of power, negligence, fact-twisting and obstructing officers from performing their task in a transparent, free and comprehensive manner,” he said in a Facebook message where he also posted a copy of the police report.

He lodged the report at the Dang Wangi police headquarters this afternoon.

Khairuddin said Apandi must provide a comprehensive explanation to the people and disclose all details of the investigation by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) into the RM2.6 billion and RM42 million from SRC International Sdn Bhd found in Prime Minister Najib Razak’s personal bank accounts in 2013.

Apandi had yesterday cleared Najib of any wrongdoing and ordered both cases closed.

“Apandi cannot make public statements without providing detailed information of the MACC’s investigation, the report of which was sent to the AG’s Chambers,” said Khairuddin, who was once Umno Batu Kawan vice-chief.

He advised Apandi against taking matters lightly and added, “Whether we like it or not, we must address this mess professionally and restore the people’s confidence.”
