Kedah Umno deputy liaison committee chairman Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah said he did not know the outcome of the meeting.
“I don’t know of any decision. Thank you all for waiting,” he told reporters outside Wisma Darul Aman.
Similarly, Guar Cempedak assemblyman Dr Ku Abd Rahman Ku Ismail and other Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblymen also declined to comment.
Some even exited through side entrances to avoid pressmen who had been waiting nearly two hours outside the building.
The meeting, which was apparently called in connection with the state’s Menteri Besar crisis, saw reporters barred from entering Wisma Darul Aman.
Members of the Council, Tunku Tan Sri Puteri Intan Safinaz Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, Tan Sri Tunku Abdul Hamid Thani Almarhum Sultan Badlishah and chairman Tan Sri Tunku Sallehuddin Ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah, arrived between 2.45pm and 3pm.
The Star Online reported that Kedah Menteri Besar Mukhriz Mahathir arrived at 4.25pm and left the building at 5.20pm, the same time as the Kedah Council of Regency and other BN representatives.
The Tunku Temenggong was also seen exiting the building at the same time.
It is believed that each of the assemblymen appeared before the council members individually for them to confirm that Mukhriz no longer received the support of the majority of them.
