The alleged incident had become viral on social sites.
Juhari Osman, 64, said his daughter, Nurulhuda Juhari, 33, was very much alive and had never lived in Thailand.
Nurulhuda’s MyKad picture went viral on Facebook and WhatsApp after she was alleged to have shot and killed herself and her son after becoming depressed and disappointed.
This was supposed to have happened after finding out that her husband had an affair with another woman.
Juhari believed the picture of his daughter’s MyKad was being circulated on social media by certain quarters out to defame her and the whole family.
“She just lost her MyKad. My daughter and my six-year-old grandson are still alive.
“We are deeply saddened and emotionally disturbed by this slanderous act,” he said when met at his house in Kampung Tok Jalai today.
Nurulhuda, who was traumatised by the whole incident, declined to meet the media.
