Cop who scolded complainant transferred, under probe

Police are viewing seriously the case of a policewoman caught on camera scolding a complainant at a traffic police counter.

A policewoman, who allegedly scolded a complainant at a traffic police counter, is now under investigation.

According to a report in The Star, a video capturing the cop in the act went viral on social media, Tuesday and was viewed 340,000 times, garnering more than 3,400 likes.

“I can confirm that the incident took place last Sunday about 6pm at the traffic police counter at the district police headquarters,” said Subang Jaya police chief ACP Mohammad Azlin Sadari.

He said police viewed the incident seriously and the policewoman would be transferred immediately.

“I have issued a directive to transfer out the policewoman with immediate effect so that she is no longer at the front desk,” the news portal reported him saying.

Mohammad Azlin also urged all police officers and personnel to show good character and deal patiently with members of the public.

The video, which is believed to have been captured by the complainant’s friend, shows a policewoman scolding a complainant who was trying to lodge a report at the counter.
