PETALING JAYA:
An activist was arrested and is being investigated for sedition on suspicion of allegedly having placed ‘Kami Semua Penghasut’ stickers on a police car during the Anti-GST rally in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.

The activist, Muhammad Zhafran, has been remanded for two days beginning today, said his lawyer Adi Zulkarnain Zulkafli.

“We have no confirmation whether he will be charged tomorrow,” Adi told FMT.

About 3,000 protesters assembled at various spots in the city and converged on Dataran Merdeka to protest against the imposition of the Goods and Services Tax and to call for the resignation of the prime minister, Najib Razak.

Kami Semua Penghasut (We are all seditionists) is the slogan devised by graphic artist Fahmi Reza for a poster campaign featuring his caricature of Najib as a clown. He was investigated on a sedition charge, leading to a protest in sympathy by other graphic artists who produced a series of similar caricatures.
