KUALA LUMPUR: 1MDB implored the Wall Street Journal (1MDB), in a statement, to immediately remove a misleading and false statement which has, once again,” betrayed its biased and incorrect coverage about the company”. “The Wall Street Journal is currently running a headline on its website claiming that ‘Malaysian parliament inquiry finds billions of dollars have gone missing from state fund 1MDB, recommends criminal probe of senior management’.”
This is an outright lie, said 1MDB. “At no point in the report is it suggested that any funds have gone missing from 1MDB nor is there any reference to a criminal probe.”
Rather, said the statement, the report recommends that enforcement agencies conduct an investigation into some of the company’s former management.
