In a series of tweets believed to be directed at Tony Pua of DAP, Rahman said the PAC report could only be published after rigorous debate about its contents by all members, including those from the Opposition.
“A member can’t criticise the final report because he is actually a party to it, it’s like criticising himself,” he said in the tweets which did not name names, but referred to some Opposition leaders within the PAC who were only partially happy with the report.
Rahman, who is also Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister, said if the person who complained wanted his points to be included in the final report, he should have insisted on it.
He said that if the report was not completely satisfactory, then the person in question should not have signed off on the report.
Rahman, who is also Kota Belud MP related how during his time in the PAC, Opposition members normally threatened to write a “minority report” if they disagreed with the PAC’s main report.
“Apparently, as far as I know, this time around there were no threats by Opposition PAC members to write a ‘minority report’,” he said.
Previously, Pua had said he was only 80% happy with the PAC’s report into 1MDB as the state investment arm had failed to produce many documents that the committee had requested for in the course of its investigations.
He also said PAC Chairman Hasan Arifin had refused to allow for controversial businessman Low Taek Jho (Jho Low) to be questioned by the PAC.
Last week, it was revealed that Prime Minister Najib Razak was not implicated in the PAC report.
