KUALA LUMPUR: A motorist who sped away after knocking into a stationary car outside a restaurant was found dead in his car at Kampung Limau Pantai Dalam here early today.
Initial police investigations revealed the 48-year-old victim was beaten to death by a group of motorcyclists following the collision about 1am.
The unidentified man sustained head and body injuries.
Brickfields police chief ACP Sharul Othman Mansor said five people, aged between 26 and 50, were detained to facilitate investigations into the killing.
He said the body was sent to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre.
