Alidin, 30, said he met his brother, Roydin Jamaludin, 32, briefly while the latter was seeking treatment for his sore feet at a private hospital here.
“There was not much time for us to chat as he was always busy with his work,” he told reporters when met at the Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital mortuary here today.
Alidin, who works in a sawmill here, said he rushed to the scene to identify his brother’s body immediately after his sister informed him of his brother’s death at 10.20am.
“When I got there, I saw my brother’s body had already been lifted from the drain and there were injuries on his body.”
Roydin leaves wife Viani Lukin and two sons, aged eight and six.
His remains will be flown to Sabah tomorrow and buried at Telaga Pitas, Kudat.
“My parents will be waiting for the body’s arrival in the village,” Alidin said, adding police would handle the transportation.
Roydin’s fully clothed body was found in a drain about 9am this morning.
