PETALING JAYA: An incensed Mazuyin Abd Manan, the grandmother of the DAP candidate for Batu Kitang has hit back at the Opposition party, saying it was downright insulting of them to even suggest she had allowed herself to be used by the ruling Barisan Nasional.

Speaking to FMT, Mazuyin, whose grandson Abdul Aziz Isa is contesting in Batu Kitang, said she had always been a PBB supporter and had her own mind when it came to politics.

“I have always been a PBB supporter. Though you may think I’m old, no one can force me to do anything I don’t want to do.

She was responding to allegations by Abdul Aziz that his rival, SUPP candidate Lo Khere Chiang had engaged in “dirty politics” by “using” his grandmother, who told the media she was critical of her grandson’s decision to contest under the Opposition ticket in Batu Kitang in tomorrow’s state election.

While pledging her support for Barisan Nasional, Mazuyin had also called on the people not to vote for Abdul Aziz as he was going against the government.

Insisting Lo never asked her for any help, Mazuyin said, “I went to the (SUPP) ceramah of my own accord. Aziz should not make this wild allegation.

“What is truly ‘dirty politics’ is making these kinds of accusations.”

She reiterated her support for Sarawak Chief Minister Adenan Satem, describing him as a “good man” who had the interests of his people at heart.

“That is why I support him,” she said of Adenan, who is president of PBB.

“To the Opposition, please do not insult an old woman like me by saying that I am being used by the BN.

“This is just an election, as good human beings we should not stoop so low as to insult each other.”
