“Without realising it, my tears started falling. I was melancholic,” he said in a statement today, adding that the Islamist party has yet to officially inform him about the sacking.
Husam, who was also the party’s former vice-president, however said he accepted PAS’s decision with an open heart.
“I have not received any official notice until today. Therefore, I will still attend the PAS Kubang Kerian meeting tomorrow.”
Earlier today, PAS Disciplinary Committee Chairman Sanusi Daeng Mariok said the party decided to give Husam the boot after he had supposedly flouted PAS’s constitution.
Prior to his sacking Husam had criticised his party on PAS’s stance that Islam did not allow the people to demand for the resignation of Prime Minister Najib Razak and also on the PAS-led Kelantan government’s failure to implement hudud.
Meanwhile, Ulama Council Information Chief Khairuddin Aman Razali told FMT that Husam’s dismissal will not affect the party as PAS did not revolve around individuals.
“Disciplinary action against any member of the party is common. Every member must act in accordance with the objectives and interests of the party.
“Action will also be taken against any leaders, no matter how great they are, if they go against the party.”
