PETALING JAYA:
Husam Musa’s expulsion from PAS on disciplinary grounds was not unusual, says party president Abdul Hadi Awang.

He said the party had previously taken similar action against an MP who had attended a dancing event organised by Barisan Nasional.

“This isn’t a strange matter that has only happened now. PAS will sack any member that violates party discipline,” said Hadi at a ceramah in Dataran Jeli last night, according to a Harakah Daily report.

Husam Musa, a former party vice-president, was sacked after having challenged and criticised the party and its leaders.

PAS Disciplinary Committee chairman Sanusi Daeng Mariok said the decision was made after careful deliberation on Husam’s case that also took into consideration the party’s interests and struggles.

Kelantan PAS secretary Che Abdullah Mat Nawi expressed his hope that the people of Kelantan would keep calm in the face of Husam’s sacking. Husam is the assemblyman for Salor. He will now sit as an independent member of the assembly.
