State Secretary Ismail Karim said the 19th edition of the 842km tour, traversing 10 districts would also be accompanied by two other Mack trucks, two buses, 35 Harley Davidson superbikes and 10 four-wheel drive vehicles.
“Sultan Ibrahim, who will be accompanied by his family members, state leaders and department heads will begin the journey from the Johor Baharu City Council Square on May 14 (Saturday) and end at the Eastern Dispersal Link Highway (EDL), Pandan Rest and Recreation Area here on May 17,” he told a pre-launching ceremony of 2016 KMJ at Istana Pasir Pelangi today.
Also present at the ceremony were Sultan Ibrahim, Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim and Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman Sultan Ibrahim.
Earlier, the ceremony began with briefings on the 2016 KMJ by state tourism, domestic trade and consumerism committee chairman Tee Siew Kiong, Ismail, 2016 KMJ Chief Secretariat Captain Fahmy Yahya and Johor traffic police chief DSP Ibrahim Mat Som.
Ismail said the main aim behind the organisation of 2016 KMJ was to develop firm ties between the Johor Royal institution and the people, via various programmes in the districts.
