Kuala Lumpur CID chief Zainuddin Ahmad said they received a report of a fire in front of the office of Wong & Chua Advocates & Solicitor at about 7am.

“The control centre ordered a patrol car and three fire engines from Pudu, Jalan Hang Tuah and Sri Rampai stations to the scene,” he said in a statement.

On arrival, the forensic team found a blue container, a lighter and a crowbar believed to have been used in the act.

Zainuddin said based on CCTV footage, the two suspects are believed to be locals who arrived in a grey Honda City.

The suspects wore a hat, coat and face mask to hide their identity.

“The suspects then went to the fifth floor using the lift. They were carrying a container of kerosene and a crowbar and stopped in front of the lawyer’s office.

“They then started a fire by throwing a bottle of oil at the office door and fled the scene using the lift,” he added.

The case is being investigated under Section 435 of the Penal Code for arson.
