SUNGAI BESAR:
Prime Minister Najib Razak has warned of the disastrous consequences should the people put their trust in the “confused” Opposition parties.

The Barisan Nasional chief, who was down in Sungai Nibong here to campaign today, sniped at the Opposition’s infighting at the party and state levels.

He urged the Selangor Government to declare once and for all who they supported in Sungai Besar — be it PAS or Amanah.

At present, PAS is part of the PKR-led Selangor Government it helped form after the 13th General Election, but Amanah is part of the Pakatan Harapan pact, together with PKR and DAP.

Both PAS and Amanah are contesting against BN in Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar.

Najib said the mess within the Opposition was evident in Sarawak when they fought over the same seats in many areas.

“Here we are seeing the same thing. What is the Selangor Government’s stand?

“We still do not know if they accept PAS or not. It’s as if they share a bed, but have different dreams.”

He stressed the confusion within the Opposition would lead to a weak administration should they ever form the Federal Government .

Hence, Najib called on all voters to ensure victory for BN’s candidate Budiman Mohd Zohdi to strengthen the government.

“If the Federal Government is not strong, we will face much stress and suffer. We don’t want the people to suffer.”

Najib also announced plans to increase allocations which had previously been announced by Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi should BN win the Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar by-elections.

“I would like to inform you that the DPM has given an allocation of half a million ringgit. If you want more, come and see me after the by-elections. God willing, I will give more allocations for the masjid.”

He added that the Federal Government and BN’s commitment to Islam was so strong that the world regarded Malaysia as a model for Muslim countries.
