PETALING JAYA:
Tian Chua of PKR says his party is grateful for the solidarity shown by DAP in calling off their plans for early elections in Penang.

Chua, a vice-president of PKR, said his party had already conveyed its views on the proposed state elections to DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng.

PKR was “very grateful for the solidarity expressed by DAP,” he told Star Online today. “We are glad that we are standing together on this issue. And that also means that the opposition (parties) are consolidated and we are standing together on all the issues.”

His remarks came after Lim announced that DAP would not seek to dissolve the Penang state assembly following consultation with party leaders and the state leadership.

He said DAP had previously stated that such a decision would not be made unilaterally but only through consensus of all parties in Pakatan Harapan.
