Now, the Tangkap Malaysian Official 1 (TMO1) rally group’s spokesman, Anis Syafiqah Md Yusof, says it is more realistic to set the number of participants at 5,000.
She said the rally would take place from 2pm to 5pm on Aug 27 (Saturday) and that the theme would be black and white, theSun reported.
Despite police warning that City Hall had not given permission to rally organisers to use Dataran Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur, Anis Syafiqah was insistent the gathering be held there.
Among those who have expressed their desire to join the rally are electoral watchdog Bersih 2.0, Pakatan Harapan’s Youth wing, Suara Rakyat Malaysia (Suaram), Lawyers for Liberty, Persatuan Hak Asasi Manusia Kebangsaan (Hakam) and Sisters in Islam.
The news portal said Anis Syafiqah welcomed the counter rally announced by Mohd Ali Baharom, or Ali Tinju.
“If possible, maybe we can even assemble together to call for the arrest of MO1,” she said.
