DBKL senior officer released after 12-day remand

54-year-old Datuk Seri allowed out on RM300,000 bail in corruption and money-laundering case.

A senior officer of Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has been released on bail after 12 days in remand for investigations into a corruption and money laundering case.

The release order on the 54-year-old ‘Datuk Seri’ was issued by magistrate Nik Isfahanie Tasnim Wan Ab Rahim on RM300,000 bail by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.

The man had been detained at his office at DBKL at 3.07pm on Aug 15 and remanded for seven days from Aug 16. He was further remanded for five days until today.

The MACC had wanted to conduct further searches and record the statement of the contractor allegedly linked to the man, and to get relevant documents.

Separately, a ‘Datuk’ businessman aged 64 was also released today, on RM10,000 MACC bail after being remanded for five days in connection with a RM500,000 corruption case involving a logging project in the East Coast.
