The Johor Ruler and the Permaisuri Johor visit the Sultanah Aminah Hospital where a fire killed six people earlier.
The Ruler said this when he visited the hospital following a fire there in which six people were killed, according to a report in The Star.
Sultan Ibrahim arrived at the hospital from Mersing at 1.50pm and was briefed by various agencies and hospital staff. He also inspected the damage caused by the fire.
Permaisuri Johor Raja Zarith Sofiah Binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah had visited the hospital at 12.30pm.
Meanwhile, Johor Menteri Besar Mohamed Khaled Nordin announced an allocation of RM100,000 from the Johor Islamic Religious Council to aid all those affected by the incident, according to the report.
He said the incident was a lesson to the state authorities to ensure that similar tragedies did not happen.
“Other buildings within the HSA grounds are safe but we will let the Fire and Rescue Department investigate the cause of the fire,” he was quoted as saying at the scene by The Star.
The state government will offer financial assistance if the need arises,” he added.
Earlier, football club Johor Darul Ta’zim in a post on Facebook expressed its condolences to the families of the victims of the fire.
