KUALA LUMPUR:
Malaysia marched into the final of the 1st Asean Deaf Football Championship after whipping Indonesia 10-1 at the National Sports Council (NSC) field here today.

Malaysia were given a rude shock when Indonesia took the lead in the 2nd minute through Salvador Sianipar after Malaysian goalkeeper Yongki Yamadi failed to clear the danger.

Indonesia’s lead did not last long as Malaysia managed to equalise even before the cheers of the Indonesian crowd had died down, when star striker Edelsen Dell Evaristus struck the first of his four goals in the 3rd minute.

Malaysia added another two goals to take a comfortable 3-1 lead by half time.

After the break, Malaysia went on a goal spree by adding another seven goals with Edelson Dell leading the charge with four goals to his credit and one each from Rabbino Lusius, Roynald Vienc Vincent, Muhammad Rahmatuddin Mohd Razali and Amirul Naim Mat Leh.

Malaysia will face Thailand in the final tomorrow at the Kementah Stadium (defence ministry) starting 4pm.

This inaugural edition of the tournament was organised the Malaysian Society of the Deaf (MSDeaf) in collaboration with the National Sports Council and FAM.
