PETALING JAYA: Jamal Yunos has accused Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali of ordering the demolition of Sekin Fishermen Village Hotel & Resort, in Sekinchan, which Jamal owns.He claimed this was in retaliation for his criticism of the state government over the recent water disruptions in the Klang Valley.
Jamal, who is Sungai Besar Umno division chief, said the Sabak Bernam district council (MDSB) demolished his hotel on Azmin’s instructions.
“This morning, MDSB plastered a notice ordering the closure of the hotel and by evening, they had demolished it.”
“This is an act of revenge by the state government for my criticism of the state government led by Azmin.
“I said what I said in the interests of Selangorians who were suffering due to the water disruptions,” Jamal told FMT.
Yesterday, Jamal – clad only in a towel – arrived at the Selangor secretariat building to protest the water cuts which had started on Monday to facilitate Tenaga Nasional Bhd maintenance work.

However, MDSB demolished the building today.
The notice stated that Jamal was running a hotel without a licence.
Jamal said he had tried for five years to apply for the licence but had been denied even though he had submitted the relevant documents to MDSB.
“For the five years I have been in business, I have been applying for a licence and fulfilling all requirements. I paid the necessary fees.”
Azmin’s office, when asked for comment, passed the responsibility to the Sabak Bernam district council to respond. The council is expected to make a statement soon.
