The BN member party will then present it at the next parliament session.
MCA president Liow Tiong Lai revealed this today after attending a meeting with party members.
The party had commissioned the study together with the Chinese guilds and associations.
It was earlier reported that a legal committee to look into the proposed amendments to the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965 was set up last month,Liow, who is also the transport minister, said the amendments would have serious implications for the legal system and affect all races.
He said: “The success formula of Barisan Nasional is the cooperation between all.
“If all the races want to live peacefully, then we need a multiracial party that can work together. We are always prepared and stand firm to the principles of BN.”
MCA has pledged to object to the bill, which aims to enhance the shariah court powers to impose criminal penalties.
Liow affirmed the party’s objection to the bill at the opening of the party’s annual conference last year.
