If DAP a problem, what about exco meets, Mahfuz asks PAS comrades
Pokok Sena lawmaker Mahfuz Omar also foresees PAS’ alliance with PPBM and PKR coming to an end.
PETALING JAYA: PAS’ Mahfuz Omar today broke ranks with the party’s leadership over their non-appearance at the official launch of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) and urged vice-president Iskandar Abdul Samad to better explain his absence.
In a statement, the Pokok Sena MP said Iskandar’s actions gave the impression that PAS would also skip attending state executive council or municipal council meetings due to the presence of DAP representatives.
Iskandar , who is the Selangor PAS commissioner, had earlier today said he did not attend the official launch of PPBM over the weekend because of the presence of DAP and Amanah there.
PAS had previously said it would not cooperate with these two parties.
“Is this some sort of signal to Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali that all of PAS representatives in the state Exco will no longer attend meetings because DAP is there?”
Iskandar is among the three PAS representatives in the Selangor line-up.
Mahfuz also said he could see PAS’ alliance with PKR and PPBM falling apart as the two parties were already cooperating with DAP.
Apart from blaming DAP and Amanah over PAS’ decision to skip the launch, Iskandar also said their absence was not meant to insult PPBM’s chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad or the opposition.

He also said it had nothing to do with allegations that PAS was cosying up to BN or Umno president Najib Razak.
