According to The Star Online, Nasrul Faiz Zulfahmi, 25, said, “Yes. My boss told me they are like ‘big-time’ gangsters.”
Nasrul was punched and kicked repeatedly by several men within the compound of a condominium in Bukit Antarabangsa as he lay prone on the ground. The entire incident was caught on video, and went viral after it was uploaded.
One week on, Nasrul is still traumatised by the incident and only decided to lodge a report after much persuasion from the police.
He said however that the threats issued by the attackers still played in his mind, making him continuously fear for his life and that of his family members.
He said this when speaking to reporters at a protest held yesterday by a group of truck drivers at the Sungai Besi toll plaza.
Relating how the beating took place, Nasrul said he was reversing his vehicle after making a delivery at the condominium and inadvertently knocked into a parked Mercedes Benz.
The impact of the collision caused a few scratches on the body of the Merdeces Benz and resulted in the vehicle’s registration plate falling off.
He said immediately after, he was approached by a man who asked who the lorry belonged to.
“I asked if he was the owner of the car but he repeatedly asked who owned the truck,” Nasrul said.
However once he identified himself as being the driver of the lorry, the man punched him and pulled at his shirt, indicating he wanted a physical fight.
“I pulled back and asked why he hit me,” Nasrul was reported by the English daily as saying, but he received a further blow. Then several others joined in and began kicking him repeatedly.
He said security guards on duty at the condominium later pulled him into their office and sent him for medical treatment.
Nasrul also denied being rude to the man who attacked him.
He said the severe beating had left him with multiple bruises on his body and a deep gash on his neck that required 13 stitches.
