Nahar Danial Aiman Naharudin, 16, said he was punched on the back of the head and face, kicked on the leg and had his neck grabbed outside the school gate at 7.40am for not tucking in his shirt.

“The teacher also uttered threats against me. I did not retaliate when struck, fearing I would be expelled.

“I then contacted my father as my shoulder, which broke in October, was hurting.

“The teacher’s assault also left me with an aching head and my parents fetched me home,” he said at his house on Jalan Datuk Kumbar, here, today.

His father, Naharudin Aizan, 38, said he had lodged a police report on the incident at the Kota Setar district police headquarters as he deemed the teacher’s acts excessive.

Meanwhile, Education Minister Mahdzir Khalid, when asked to comment on the incident, said he left it to the Kota Setar District Education Office to investigate.

Earlier, a Kedah Education Department spokesman when contacted said the department was aware of the incident and that it was up to the police to investigate it.

Kota Setar district police chief ACP Mohd Rozi Jidin, when contacted, confirmed the incident and said investigations were under way.
