Caught on camera, the man was heard shouting in Malay at the woman, saying, “I will rape you here!”
From his tirade, it is believed the male trader had been operating at the Sri Damansara stretch after the LDP highway for a long while before the women trader decided to set up shop beside him.
The man also hurled obscenities at the woman and accused her of not even having the decency to greet him when she began setting up her stall.
Dressed in a red floral shirt and wearing a red cap and apron, he was accompanied by a woman dressed in the same attire, who joined him in telling off their competition.
The woman said she was hurt by the actions of their business rival as she too sold drinks just as they were now doing.
The 1.02 minute video, uploaded on Feb 14, on the Facebook page “Sosej Sambal”, has been shared over 8,000 times with over 6,000 Facebook users registering their anger, shock or amusement at the incident.
Among the 4,500 comments posted about the incident, some urged for a police report to be lodged against the male trader for his threat of rape, while others said the man’s business rivals were in the wrong for giving him unwanted competition by selling drinks just as he was.
Other Facebook users however asked why it was impossible for them to co-exist in peace despite offering the same fare to customers.
