SEREMBAN: A former senior officer with the local authority here who was detained for alleged corruption and misuse of power was released yesterday on Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) bail.

This was confirmed by the man’s lawyer Hanif Hassan.

“The suspect was released yesterday on RM15,000 bail. No date has been fixed yet to charge him in court,” he said when contacted today.

The suspect who had a “Datuk” title was detained by MACC on Feb 13.

Two contractors who were earlier detained in connection with the case were released on Monday on MACC bail.
