Seberang Perai Tengah District Police chief ACP Nik Ros Azhan Nik Abdul Hamid said the 54-year-old victim was returning from a wedding in Pokok Sena and had stopped at the mosque to pray in the 8.30pm incident.
“The woman had placed her red handbag at the front of the prayer mat. Upon completion of her prayers she found the handbag containing RM350, a cellphone, identity card, bank card and driving licence missing,” he said here today.
He said the mosque’s closed circuit television showed that a man wearing a grey helmet with a visor had rushed in and grabbed the victim’s handbag when she was praying before running off.
