According to sources, the 11 were said to have frequently submitted false hotel accommodation claims while on official duty in the Klang Valley when in reality, they had never stayed at hotels.
“Civil servants should present receipts for hotel rooms but it is believed that the ones submitted contained false details meant to confuse their offices.
“The false claims have become common practice in some government departments in the state since 2014.”
Meanwhile, state MACC director, Ramli Ismail said the case was being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.
He did not discount the possibility that civil servants from other agencies in the state who committed similar offences would be called up to facilitate investigations.
