PETALING JAYA: A six-year-old boy allegedly left inside a van for three hours died yesterday.
He was identified by The Star Online as Muhammad Iqram Danish.
Gombak deputy police chief Mohd Marzuki Mohd Mokhtar said the van driver, 21, had taken Iqram and two other children to kindergarten in Bandar Country Homes, Rawang, at 2pm.
He failed to notice that Iqram had not alighted and had fallen asleep at the back of the van. He drove home and parked his vehicle.
He only noticed the unconscious boy in the van at 5pm when it was time to fetch the children from kindergarten.
The boy was rushed to Hospital Sungai Buloh but was pronounced dead there.
The driver is being investigated under Section 31 (1) of the Child Acts 2001 for negligence.
