Serdang district police chief ACP Megat Mohamad Aminuddin Megat Alias was reported by The Sun Daily as saying the victim lodged the report at the Serdang district police headquarters at 6pm on Tuesday.
“The victim, an Indonesian was hiding in her acquaintance’s home all the while as her passport and personal documents were stolen by the suspects,” the daily quoted him as saying in a press conference at the district police headquarters today.
A Bangladeshi national, who was also at the gambling den when the alleged rape and robbery took place last Thursday, lodged a police report yesterday about the incident.
The owner of the gambling den meanwhile lodged a police report on Saturday and confirmed that the crime took place at his premises.
On May 14, Megat Mohamad said both suspects have been identified and on Sunday, one was nabbed at his home in Kuala Selangor.
He tested positive for methamphetamine and was found to have two prior drug-related offences.
He has been remanded for a week until May 20 to facilitate investigations while police look for the other suspect, the daily reported.
The case has outraged Malaysians, many of whom viewed closed-circuit television video (CCTV) footage of the two men allegedly raping the woman, a cashier at the gambling den.
The four-minute footage of the crime in progress, went viral as did photos of the alleged suspects.
